Looking past the symptoms

An integrative approach to diagnosis. Our aim is to treat the root cause of illness while managing associated symptoms.

Tailored Treatments

No two patients are alike, and therefore no two treatments are alike.

Naturopathic Services

Offering a variety of naturopathic modalities used alone or in combination for effective results.

Clinical Nutrition

Nutrition is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle. We will sit one and one and review current dietary intake and correct nutritional deficiencies, optimize your nutrient levels, identify food sensitivities. Any deficiencies may be fixed with good quality supplements and guidance will be provides on specialized diets including gluten-free, ketogenic, hypoallergenic (elimination diet), vegetarian, vegan, Paleo, and more.

Comprehensive Lab Testing

Appropriate tests will help us understand your individual physiology and to uncover the true cause of your health concerns. These include: full hormone panels, food sensitivity, stool testing, vitamin D, comprehensive thyroid testing, etc.

Botanical Medicine

Botanical medicine involves the use of plant-based medicines used for healing. Botanical medicine treatments may include herbal teas, capsules or tablets, liquid formulas (tinctures) as well as topical treatments such as herbal baths and soaks, creams, and salves. Botanical medicine is commonly used for hormone imbalance, skin conditions, immune health, and digestive concerns.

Chinese medicine is a 2000 year old form of ancient medicine. The World Health Organization recognizes 55 medical conditions that are effectively treated using acupuncture including: hay fever, depression, headaches, knee pain, low back pain, morning sickness, rheumatoid arthritis, sciatica, sprains, strokes, and tennis elbow. A recent study in the Archives of Internal Medicine concluded that individuals with back pain that were treated with acupuncture had lasting relief in contrast to patients receiving medications and other medical treatments. I also offer cosmetic facial acupuncture, an effective non-surgical, non-toxic method of reducing signs of aging and improving the quality and tone of the skin on the face and neck.

Targeted Supplements

While the diet is our foundation, there are times in our lives where we require more than what we can get from our food. Vitamins, minerals and other nutrients may be prescribed to treat specific conditions, to reverse deficiencies and to support the body during times of higher demand.

We will chat about your needs, what I offer, and whether naturopathic medicine is right for you. This consult can be conducted in person or by telephone for your convenience.

About Dr. Diana

Dr. Diana Semjonov, Naturopathic Doctor

As a licensed naturopathic doctor, I work with you to identify and treat the root of the problem, not just the symptoms; to understand your concerns and connect the dots of your story. I then provide you with an individualized treatment plan that addresses what we discover together and remove whatever is blocking you from feeling your best. I use therapies such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, individualized nutrition, orthomolecular medicine and supplementation, classical homeopathy, hydrotherapy, and lifestyle counselling.

I am there to support your healing process every step of the way. My recommendations are meant to complement, not replace conventional medicine while supporting the body back to health. My approach addresses the whole person and treatment is designed to be effective yet gentle, while avoiding any contraindications with other treatments of conventional drugs you may be taking.

When it comes to your health, you have options in choosing natural therapies and I believe it is important for you to make educated decisions.  If you would like to explore how I can help, please consider booking a consultation with me.

My mission:

– To provide health care that empowers through education and encouragement.
– To bridge the gap between modern medicine and the wisdom to traditional medicine.
– To work with other health care practitioners to move your health into a safer, more compassionate and comprehensive plan.
– To be an innovator by using up-to-date research.
– To advocate for health promotion and education to help individuals enjoy the value of a lifetime of proactive wellness.

My training:

My training includes a four-year Doctor of Naturopathy medical degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto after completing an engineering degree from the University of Toronto. The Doctor of Naturopathy degree currently offers the highest level of training in natural medicine out of any licensed health profession in North America.

After more than 3000 hours of classroom study, I completed a medical internship at the Robert Shad Naturopathic Clinic (RSNC), an outpatient teaching hospital associated with the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) as well as an internship at Sherbourne Health Center in Toronto. The Sherbourne health center is a community-based clinic providing care to people living with HIV and AIDS.

As a clinical intern, I spent 1200 clinical hours and treated more 270 patients for common health concerns including digestive issues, heart disease, gynecological and female problems (fibroids, cervical cancer, endometriosis, PMS), mental health, complications of HIV and chronic autoimmune conditions.

I have completed special training in Homeopathy in India under the world renowned Dr. Rajan Sankaran and also hold advanced certification in  Functional and Personalized Hormone Restoration Therapy. I continually advance my education to bring the latest in research and technology to my patients.

To be licensed and practice, I have written 2 nationwide licensing medical exams NPLEX I & II (Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations). I am currently licensed and in good standing under the regulatory body of The College of Naturopaths of Ontario.

When not at the clinic:

You may find me formulating skin care, in the kitchen trying new healthy recipes, doing yoga, and reading health books.
